REALTORS® Hope for Homeless
Feeding Local Families
The REALTOR® Association of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green holds 2 MAJOR food drives –REALTORS® Hope for Homeless – Feeding Local Families in the Spring (established 2012) and the ‘Glow Run/Walk” in the Fall (established 2014). 100% of money raised from both events is given back to our community in the form of food.
Most people do not know that programs like the “backpack” program stop when school is NOT in session, therefore many kids who receive their only meal at school will not even get a bag of food at all for the weekend. This means any time school is not in session - Christmas, Spring/Fall break, Snow days, and Summer break – a child in our community will be hungry. Therefore, most of the food which we purchase is distributed directly by one of the Family Resource Coordinators by visiting the homes of these children when school is not in session. Currently we are able to support Warren City/County Schools, and countless others in Allen, Butler, Edmonson, Logan and Simpson Counties.
We also support HOTEL, INC, a community-based non-profit organization which provides Warren County citizens with pathways to stable housing, community resources, building relationships, quality food, and serving our neighbors by stocking the “ManaMart” food pantry. REALTORS Hope for Homeless has donated hundreds of thousands of servings to HOTEL INC since the start of the event in 2012 and is considered one of the largest food donors, which they can count on to feed families in need.
What are we ASKING? Please help us!
Our 7th Annual REALTORS® HOPE for HOMELESS – Feeding Local Families event will be held from
April 27th – April 29th, 2018
which benefits School Family Resource Centers & HOTEL INC.
We have several options:
- Become a Sponsor! Individual or your company!
- Donate non-perishable Food during the event!
- Make a monetary donation during the event (every penny helps)!
- Host a Food-drive for us! Set up bins the month of April to collect food
- Spread the word about this event!
- Come with this Flyer/Print-out to our 5th “Glow Run/Walk (date TBD – most likely October, 2018), participate and get a $ 5.00 discount.
By committing early with a Sponsorship and with the receipt of your donation early, we can pre-shop and stretch every Dollar even more! We were able to provide a meal to over 400,000 children and adults after our last REALTORS® Hope for Homeless event in 2017.
Our Goal for 2018:
450,000 SERVINGS OF FOOD = AT LEAST $ 25,000 IN MONETARY DONATIONS.
